Please help to keep our village clean!!
Published On: March 13, 2026
Last week our brilliant village litter picker Jeremy cleared this pile of rubbish from behind the large green junction box at the Gandish Road / Flatford Lane crossroads.
Sadly, this isn’t a one-off. It appears every 3–4 weeks in exactly the same spot, and it’s nearly always the same story — empty alcohol bottles and cans: lager, vodka, wine, gin & tonic.

East Bergholt is a beautiful village and part of the landscape that so many of us care deeply about. Leaving rubbish like this behind is disrespectful to the community and unfair on the volunteers who give up their time to keep the village tidy.
Please help us keep East Bergholt clean and welcoming:
A big thank you to Jeremy and everyone who helps look after our village.
Let’s all do our bit.
