Strategy, Policy and Finance
The SPF Committee oversees the entire budget and makes recommendations upon policy and strategy to the Council.
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
CIL is a charge which is levied by a Local Planning Authority (LPA) on new developments in their area. It is an important tool for the LPA to use to help them deliver the infrastructure needed to support developments.
The levy only applies in areas where a LPA has consulted on, and approved, a charging schedule which sets out its levy rates and has published the schedule on its website.
Most new development which creates net additional floor space of 100 square metres or more, or creates a new dwelling, is potentially liable for the levy.
Under the CIL Legislation, the Parish Council receives a proportion of the CIL levy, which it can invest in local infrastructure projects, as well as providing grants to local organisations to allow the provision and maintenance of recognised infrastructure projects. The SPF committee manages the Council CIL fund for these purposes.
