Parish Council Committees
The Council has established six committees to oversee and manage its areas of responsibility.
The Neighbourhood Plan
Main Responsibilities
- To review and update the East Bergholt Neighbourhood Plan as required in a timely and efficient manner;
- To make recommendations to the Parish Council to ensure agreement at all key stages in the review and updating process including budgeting, policy and project focus;
- To appoint external consultants as necessary;
- To agree submissions which are part of the statutory process.
Strategy, Policy & Finance
Main Responsibilities
- To ensure compliance with the Council’s Financial Regulations.
- To formulate and recommend to Council policies for the benefit of the parish.
Playing Fields
Main Responsibilities
- To ensure the playing fields and associated equipment are provided for the use of the whole parish.
- To maintain and update facilities as necessary.
Burial Grounds
Main Responsibilities
- To organise, maintain and manage the Burial Grounds for the benefit of the parish.
- To ensure compliance with the Local Authorities Cemeteries Order 1977.
Roads, Footpaths & Flatford
Main Responsibilities
- To deal with the management of litter and matters relating to public rights of way, miscellaneous street furniture and Parish Council owned public seats within the parish.
- Management of village car park and public toilets
Young People
Main Responsibilities
- To deal with the management of litter and matters relating to public rights of way, miscellaneous street furniture and Parish Council owned public seats within the parish.
