Election of County Councillors
to Suffolk County Council
1. An election is to be held for Councillors for the following divisions:

Constable 1
Cornard & Sudbury East 1
Cosford 1
Hadleigh 1
Melford 1
Peninsula 1
Stour Valley 1
Sudbury West 1
2. Nomination papers may be obtained from the Deputy Returning Officer at the address shown below or by emailing elections@baberghmidsuffolk.gov.uk
3. Completed nomination papers must be delivered to the Deputy Returning Officer at the address shown below, on any working day from Monday, 30 March 2026, between 9.30am and 4.30pm but not later than 4pm on Thursday, 9 April 2026.
4. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 7 May 2026 between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Monday, 20 April 2026. Applications can be made online: www.gov.uk/registertovote
6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal and postal proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
7. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. 8. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.
9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday, 7 May 2026.
