STRATEGY POLICY AND FINANCIAL ANNUAL REP ORT BUDGET 2024/25 1. The Parish Councils budget for 2024/25 was £206,048.50 which is an increase of £30,130 on the budget of 2023/24. The determination of the precept in accordance with the statutory formula provides a sum of £148,000 as the Council Tax requirement in 2024/25. Samford Division Annual Report for 2025 1 March 2024 Idling Campaign: On March 1, 2024, Suffolk County Council launched a campaign urging drivers to switch off their engines when parked, particularly outside schools, to protect children's lungs from unnecessary pollution. This campaign was supported by pupils and staff at Castle Hill Infant and Junior School. Young People Committee Annual Parishioners Update The Young People Committee have been busy in recent months. A survey was undertaken in October 2024 to ascertain which services residents would like to see for young people in the village. A resounding response was the need for a facility where young people can gather in a safe space. As a result of this, we approached three organisations to submit a bid to establish a weekly youth club from school years 7-10. 1 2024/2025 Annual Report from the Chair of the Roads, Footpaths and Flatford Committee, Councillor John Price. It has been a bit of an up and down year. Early in the year Suffolk County highways reconstructed the footway along Gaston Street and late in the year they did the same to the footway along Heath Road between the Hare and Hounds and the Medical Centre. Thus making the pavement much better for people, particularly for those less firm on their feet and also less uncomfortable for those in wheelchairs. EAST BERGHOLT 2025 AGM PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE ANNUAL REVIEW The 2024/25 year proved to be the busiest 12 months the playing fields committee has experienced for many years. The winter of 2023 brought all sports fixtures to a halt. The incessant rainwater waterlogged the grounds, and the fields flooded. One manager had to ‘send on his subs !’. A Verti draining exercise was carried out in the following Spring followed by sanding and re seeding. The ground improved in time to complete the football season and start the new cricket fixtures.
