Celebrating Constable 250 – East Bergholt
Published On: January 23, 2026
We will be working with Dedham Parish Council and Brantham Parish Council to celebrate all the local areas that John Constable walked and drew, ensuring the full Constable landscape is highlighted during this special anniversary year. We also expect more visitors will come to the village to enjoy our scenery, and we hope to share walks and information so everyone can understand just how precious our landscapes are, both to the nation and to us locally.
Back in November, we introduced ‘In Our View’ a programme of Constable 250 events running from Easter time including regular events like the Summer Fair, and other local activities and community celebrations, it showcases the views, creativity, and spirit of East Bergholt, alongside the wider Constable 250 programme, including three major exhibitions at Christchurch Mansion from Easter onwards.
