District Councillor Report August 2025 Local Government Reorganisation Councillors at a meeting of Babergh District Council last month gave the green light to progress plans for three new unitary councils as part of the biggest shake-up of local government in 50 years. Boundaries have not yet been drawn and will ultimately be for the government to decide. The three unitaries plan differs from Suffolk County Council’s plan for a single unitary authority for the whole of Suffolk.
