USE OF FACEBOOK AND WEBSITE UPDATE
1. Background
In the absence of a functional website, we require an avenue to improve communication with
residents.
There are several other ‘East Bergholt’ pages, none of which are operated or managed by the
Parish Council. Until our website is up and running, we need to improve our communications
and ensure that we are updating the public regarding all of the non-confidential work going on
during this time.
We will also benefit from a Facebook page to link with our website. The benefits include
increasing traffic through the site and ensuring maximum reach across the parish.
Events such as the upcoming ‘Open Forums’ could be communicated on our own page to ensure
maximum engagement.
2. Proposal
To launch the East Bergholt Parish Council Facebook page to improve public communications.
3. Implications
Positive impact is the improved engagement with the more than 3000 people who follow the
East Bergholt facebook sites.
Possible negative impact could be negative comments from some residents.
4. Website Update
We are approaching two companies with a detailed specification of requirements for a new
website. It is hoped that at the next meeting, we will be in a position to confirm the company
commissioned to carry out this work.
A formal thank you to Councillor Stephen Mills for the work he has put in to identify the ‘best
fit’.
