MINUTES OF THE EXTRAORDINARY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

OPEN PUBLIC SESSION
No members of the public were present and the Chair closed the session.

21.25.26 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence received from Councillors Davies, Elmer, Matthews and Woodcock
were NOTED.

22.25.26 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST OR DISPENSATIO NS
None

23.25.26 RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE THE PUBLIC (INCLUDING THE PRESS)
It was proposed by Councillor Miller, seconded by Councillor Roberts and RESOLVED
(unanimously) that pursuant to the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 and the
Local Government Act 1972 the public (including the press) be excluded from the meeting
as publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of
the business to be transacted.

24.25.26 CASUAL VACANCY
Four applications to fill the casual vacancy on the Council had been received from eligible
persons. The Council interviewed three of the applicants, the fourth having been
unavailable n this evening.

The Chair adjourned the meeting until 6.30 pm on 12 June 2025.

At the resumed meeting the Council interviewed the fourth applicant.

The Council considered the attributes of all the applicants and each councillor indicated
their preference for co-option. A majority of councillors favoured one applicant and those
with a different preference were content for the most favoured applicant to be co-opted.

It was proposed by Councillor Miller, seconded by Councillor Roberts and RESOLVED
(unanimously) that Robert Smith be invited to be co-opted to the Parish Council to serve a
term of office up to the next election in May 2027.
