Schedule of Meetings 2022

1. It is usually the practice to schedule meetings for a municipal year, May to
April, but for reasons unknown the Council’s schedule has been based on
calendar years. Consequently meetings are scheduled and rooms booked up
to the end of December 2021 but nothing is in place thereafter. This
arrangement works well but it does mean that at this time of year
arrangements need to be confirmed for at least the first five months of the
ensuing year, if not the entirety of it.

2. Attached is a table showing the Council and Committee schedule for 2021
with the corresponding dates for 2022. If approved, these dates will be fixed
and rooms booked for the meetings.

3. If the Council is happy with these arrangements based on calendar years
continuing then a similar schedule will be brought forward for approval in a
year’s time. If the Council wishes to change the arrangements to municipal
years, a report will be submitted to the next meeting for January – May 2023
and thereafter reports will be submitted in March of each year for the ensuing
municipal year.

4. It is RECOMMENDED that (i) the schedule of meetings for 2022 be approved
and (ii) the Council indicates whether it wishes arrangements to be based on
calendar or municipal years.
