Summer Fair working group – report for March parish council meeting

Initial working group meeting held on Feb 25 – Marion Burns, Louise Smith, Nicki Reed, Graham
White.
Discussed basics: licensing/insurance/risk assessments. Agreed first full working group meeting
must include EB Community Council and input from High School students. Marion to contact
both. Next meeting date therefore TBC.

Agreed event timing as 1pm-5pm on Sunday, 6 July. Agreed FAIR not FAYRE.

Costings outlined by Louise as follows:
£350 for event compere/DJ + kit
£300 for Essex Concert Band
TBC (£250-350 estimate) for Constable Hall
REQUEST council approval

Note: further spending requests to follow once we establish what people want – bouncy castle
etc

Nicki investigating potential (free) event branding/logo ahead of starting “Save the Date” social
media and “What would you like at your summer fair” social media.

Louise working on corporate/craft/food and drink participants, plus inviting all village
organisations to take part (having a stall/sponsoring an attraction/donating a raffle prize).

Marion working with parish magazine team to organise summer fair invitations to new housing
development residents in the May or June issue (A5 inserts to magazine).
