Hi John
I’ve just been visited by Mr and Mrs Peck who live ‘just past Park Farm’ (presumably on Park Road) who came
in to ask if anything can be done about the speed of vehicles on Straight Road and the volume of traffic.
There’s not much we can do about the latter but I wondered if the former is of interest to the RFF Committee.
Apparently Mr Peck used to go running and bike riding along Straight Road but is no longer able to do so
because of the above. He feels as if he is stranded in his home, unable to get out because of the danger in the
road.
Personally I hate Straight Road. It’s too narrow and vehicles go too fast along it. I’m not sure if it is unrestricted
but 30 is fast enough down there. I’m not sure whether it is outside the scope of the PJA traffic proposals, it
probably is as it is on the wrong side of the B1070, but we have had many complaints about it – from Rupert
Eley down, so it might be worth pursuing, though I bet SCC say it doesn’t meet the standards.
And all that is before you get to the B1070 junction, which frightens the life out of me.
