BURIAL GROUNDS COMMITTEE
As of the Annual Parish Council Meeting in May the Burial Grounds committee has
met under extraordinary terms to make a decision in regards to the ride on Mower.
The committee has also been updated on the insurance claim for the ride on mower
which was stolen.
These updates are as followed…
– The Council agreed unanimously to pursue the quote from “Sproughton
Garden Machinery” and to pay the extra but crucial smaller sum to have the tracking
device professionally fitted on the Mower.
– It was clear understanding amongst the committee that the decided company
were more local than the others yet much more attentive, they will be installing the
tracking device to a professional standard, described amongst the committee as a no
“brainier”
– On May 30th the council received a payout from the insurance company in
regards to the ride on mower which was stolen. The settlement comprised £6485 for
the Mower and an additional pay out of £700 for the cutting deck, giving in total a
payout to the council of £7185.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN COMMITTEE
We have worked closely with our consultants on all detailed areas of the design code
for the village and suggested improvements to the draft code. It is close to being
completed and incorporates the comments from the public consultation. The design
code consciously does not acknowledge that there are any good design qualities in
the two large housing schemes currently under construction.
The Housing Needs Assessment report has been finalised and we continue to review
the policies of the existing neighbourhood plan.
YOUNG PEOPLE COMMITTEE
An independent draft needs analysis survey document has been prepared by
Community Action Suffolk. Committee members asked to submit comments. Aim is
to follow best practice and have, wherever possible, the village’s children completing
the form themselves, with a separate document prepared for the age group 0-5
years for parents/carers to fill in. The timeline planned is to have the survey
distributed and replies returned before the end of this academic term.
Community Action Suffolk will be attending the Summer Fair – not in order to fill out
surveys – but so that they can get a sense for the village dynamic. All other local
clubs, societies, etc., that exist for young people invited to take a stall.
Liaison visits made by Committee members to the two schools and to the nurseries.
Collapsable tables/seating, for future use, donated by the primary school and
delivered to the Congregational Church.
