Item 10 Cost of living.
Paragraph 3 re warm space; after, “Councillor Hurley noted that this was only for an hour and a half
whereupon it became a lunch club”. Add Councillor Price responded, stating that the session is
open for warm space activities from 11-00 am to 2-30 pm and in practice people can stay
longer until everyone is ready to leave and lock up.
Paragraph 4, “Councillor Mathews said it was meant to be established as a warm space and not a
lunch club. There is a need to look at what the money was given for”. Add Councillor Mathews
said she was aware that Councillor Price had the figures and she was advised to talk to
Councillor Price.
Paragraph 5, “Councillor Price said that the grant (insert “grant” and delete “money”) from Babergh
DC was for insulation above the stage, separating the heating system into two separately
controlled zones, replacing the windows in the hall and repairing an escape door and all
these have been completed (remove various activities and not specifically for a warm space).
Paragraph 6, add Councillor Hockley was fulsome with his praise for the volunteers who
made the event possible at the Constable Hall.
Paragraph 7, add The Chairman acknowledged that the Constable warm space had been
advertised. Also add Councillor Price invited Parish Councillors to volunteer to help at the
Constable Hall warm space events which have now been held weekly for over a year, with
the exception of the month of August when building work was under way.
