Review of Council Policies – Publication Scheme
1. In December 2021 the Council approved two publication schemes. The first
was based on the Information Commissioner’s template and the second
specifically related to the Freedom of Information Act. The review of these
policies has been delayed due to the extended development of the Council
website.
2. Councillor Roberts and the Assistant Clerk have reviewed the current policies
and made substantial amendments. Primarily they considered that there was
no need for two separate policies and that the content could be amalgamated
into one. Additionally, the wording could be simplified and made more
accessible to the public whilst maintaining the breadth of material which can
be made available. The result of the review is the attached document which is
recommended to the Council for approval and adoption.
