Proposed 2025 Summer Fair

The Council agreed a £4,000 budget for events in 2025/26, primarily for a summer
fair.
The Council is asked to agree the date of 6
th
July 2025 to be confirmed for the
summer fair. This will allow early plans to be put into place to ensure it will be as
successful as possible. This is a Sunday, which is more favourable than a Saturday
as it does not conflict with cricket club fixtures. This date has provisionally been
booked out through Dennis McGrath.
The previous two summer fairs have been extremely well received by the community
at large, and included working in partnership with several local organisations, such
as the Women’s Institute, East Bergholt Community Council, East Bergholt Society,
East Bergholt Cinema, Old Hall and St Mary’s Church. We have also used this
opportunity to support local businesses, by inviting them to be a part of the
celebrations.
The summer fair has become a great opportunity to meet with members of the local
community, socialise and learn more about the history of the village and current
village life.
The aim this year will be to establish a working group to plan the event as soon as
possible, to include key Council and community members. Volunteer councillors are
sought together with suggestions for appropriate community members.
