Young People Provision in East Bergholt DRAFT

Following a recent survey of young people in East Bergholt, East Bergholt Parish
Council is keen to establish a youth club offering within the village for young people
from Year 7 upwards.
As a provider within this sector, you are being invited to quote to provide services
within the village for one year, with a possibility to extend further. The Young People
Committee will select a contract based not only on price, but also suitability of the
service provided.
East Bergholt Parish Council is in a position to provide a venue within the village and
is asking your organisation to comment against the below criteria to demonstrate
how you will:
• Provide a safe space for young people to meet, preferably at a venue and
with a mobile offering which could reach more isolated young people.
• Engage effectively with East Bergholt High School and it’s students.
• Help young people build positive relationships and support networks.
• Improve physical and mental wellbeing.
• Help young people make positive choices away from harmful and risky
behaviours and practices, using topical subjects. i.e safe use of social media,
knife crime, county lines etc.
• Improve confidence and self-esteem of attendees.
• Run social action projects.
• Help and encourage young people to gain work experience.
• Help to build practical and soft skills.
• Assist with providing young people with access to advice in the community.
• Supply data on numbers of young people engaged with and themes coming
out of any work which may be useful.
We would ask that your quote includes the provision of a weekly session in the
village, with the possibility of outreach in the form of a youth bus if possible. In the
early days of establishment, we expect the provider to be flexible with days of
delivery, to ascertain which would be most successful in the long term. However, we
would suggest a Wednesday evening to start with, possibly with separate sessions
for varying age groups.
Our aim is to establish this service by January 2025, therefore your response is
requested by Friday 22
nd
November to allow for arrangements to be made and in
place in time for the launch of the service.
