Burial Grounds Committee – Membership and Chairmanship

1. At the Annual Meeting of the Council on 6 May 2021 the Council approved the
membership of the Burial Grounds Committee for the 2021/22 municipal year
as Councillors Cathcart, Eley, and Rothwell with ex officio members
Councillors Miller and Roberts. Councillor Rothwell was appointed as
Chairman of the Committee.

2. Since then, Rupert Eley has resigned from the Council and Councillor
Rothwell has resigned both as Chairman and as a member of the Committee.

3. The quorum of the Committee is three and only three members remain in
membership, including the two ex officio members. Any absence from a
meeting would render the Committee inquorate. In addition there is currently
no permanent Chairman so each meeting would have to elect a chairman for
the meeting and there would be no point of reference or continuity between
meetings.

4. The Council is invited to appoint two addition members to the Committee for
the remainder of the municipal year and a Chairman from the revised
membership.
