The school has very kindly accommodated these containers for many years, but with the High School rebuild now underway, space on the school site is at a premium. The car park is being used for construction access, with increased deliveries and traffic, while parking arrangements are also having to change.

There has also unfortunately been a problem with fly-tipping around the containers, including bags of clothes, glass and general household waste. This creates additional work and disposal costs for the school.

The removal of the glass container should have little impact on household recycling, as glass bottles and jars can already be placed in your blue recycling bin. This means there is no longer the same need for a separate village glass recycling point.

Textiles are slightly different. They cannot currently go into our weekly household bins, but there are still ways to recycle your unwanted clothing and textiles. You can make use of BRING BANK textile recycling options available locally or use the textile recycling facilities at Lawford Recycling Centre.

We would like to thank East Bergholt High School for providing space for these recycling facilities for so many years and for supporting recycling in our village.
