Lawn bowls is for all the family; it is an enjoyable game for all ages. It is a game to play socially, or competitively at local, county and, ultimately, at national level. It is a game of skill and strategy, and most bowlers can reach a high standard – and some even excel.
Our club is friendly and sociable – and we welcome potential new members at all times. We have over 50 active playing members, and we are always looking new recruits – we can supply equipment and instruction … all you need to bring are flat shoes!
As a first step, come along to our ‘roll-ups’ held Thursday from 2:00pm and Sundays from 10:00am. Alternatively contact Club Secretary Melvyn Powell on 01206 298522, or email melpowell46@gmail.com for more information. The green is open between April and September.

It is situated at the far side of the playing fields by Constable Memorial Hall, in Gandish Road.
Carpet bowls is played at the Constable Memorial Hall, Gandish Road, and whilst it is not as challenging as lawn bowls it is nonetheless a very skilful game enjoyed by all socially – and we also play to a competitive standard in local winter league and county competitions.
