VILLAGE MATTERS (News & What's on)

Traffic in the village

The PC responded to the views of the village expressed in the Neighbourhood Plan expressing safety concerns about the traffic in the village. We employed a consultancy to examine the evidence and make proposals. Their suggestions have now been published in a report which you will find here:

https://eastbergholt.org/Documents/ebnp/Road Traffic/PJA Road Traffic Strategy Study (1Q2023)/PJA East Bergholt Traffic Management Strategy Rev B December 2022 -compressed.pdf?q=638211395461920660

You will find the results of a survey of village views here:

PJA EB Traffic and Transport Questionnaire Results.pdf (eastbergholt.org)

These are just the results of the consultants proposals and the PC now wants to know your views about them. Which areas do you think are the key priorities? What other areas do you think should have been included? Which order of priority would you put these proposals in?

If you’d like to comment on the proposals please return the form here EB Traffic Workshop 24-May-2023 - Prioritising the Options Form.docx (live.com) to parish.clerk@eastbergholtpc.co.uk or to Parish Council at Unit 4CD, The Gattinetts, Hadleigh Road, CO7 6 QT

The report was launched on 24 May and the initial feedback from the more than 70 residents who attended the launch event will be published in the next week.

Suffolk County Council Highways - Reporting Problems

Two Parish Councillors recently visited the local Suffolk County Council Highways Service Delivery Centre. The Highways Officers advised our Councillors that the most effective way of reporting any Highways issues is via the County Council's online reporting tool. Any problem will then be picked up and allocated a reference number. The issue will be looked at by an appropriate member of the Highways Team, prioritised, the area will be inspected if considered necessary, and a solution to any required work will be allocated, if considered appropriate.
